Neglect Your Produce? Tips to Revive So They Survive.

Wasted Food Stops with Us Team

Updated: Jun 29, 2023

Yip, we planned to eat the recommended daily intake of veggies but somehow, we forgot about a few and now they’re wilted, shriveled, or dried out. Not all is lost, just add the miracle drug, water! Grab a bowl and fill it with ice water. Next add your vegetables to be revived. Just like water plumps up your skin, it will do the same for your vegetables- just let them soak a half an hour for greens, or more if a denser vegetable like carrots or beets.

If you have too much to eat in one meal they’ll keep for a day or two longer in the refrigerator, or you can also decide to roast them to bring out that mouth-watering caramelized flavor. Roasting will also allow you to store them in the refrigerator for a few more days or even freeze them for a quick side dish another night. To learn more about storing fresh vegetables, visit our webpage on how to properly store food.
