Wasted food stops with us. And it starts by understanding how to make the most of our food.
Join us for the Heart of Hamilton County food distribution and community health fair on Tuesday, September 26 at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds. Learn how to store food so that it lasts longer while maximizing its freshness and flavor with a take home Food Storage Guide. Experts provide tips for shopping with a list, one of the best ways to prevent overbuying food that ends up being wasted.
Food for the distribution will be provided by La Soupe, Last Mile Food Rescue, Love in Action, Freestore Foodbank, and the Society of St. Andrew.
In addition, Attendees can take advantage of the following free health-related services:
· Xavier University Nursing: blood pressure, BMI, hearing, and vision screenings
· MoBo Co-op: Pop-up Bike Shop
· Cincinnati Health Department: Men's Health Program
· 1N5: Mental health awareness and giveaways
The Heart of Hamilton County Health Fair and Food Distribution event is made possible by Hamilton County ReSource and its Wasted Food Stops with Us initiative; the Cincinnati Health Department; Green Umbrella; and the Greater Cincinnati Food Policy Council.
